10/9/09 Good King Mack Fishing and Monster Spanish

Had John Walsh, Dave Merritt and his wife Jean aboard today. We were chasing king mackerel (within sight of land) and the fishing was about as good as it gets. Once we got anchored and put the SFE kit up and got the chum grinder working in about 30 minutes we had all of the fish up behind the boat.
It got so good John broke out the fly rod and although he never hooked up we had some 6-7 pound Spanish follow his fly up to the boat(pretty exciting). Anytime we got bored we would just put 2 lines out and had a couple of doubles as I remember.
Ended up with everyone crying "uncle" and with sore arms we headed in- on a 1/2 day trip!!! I'd say we had at least 4 Spanish over the 6 pound mark and it was some of the largest Spanish Macks I have ever seen.
