Had my father-in-law in town for the weekend so we decided to go out and try them(even though it was pouring down rain). I had just received a new set of rods from St Croix (www.stcroixrods.com) and I was ictching to give them a try. I have had really good luck with St Croix and their customer service is top notch!
We set out to trout fish- and we caught a few small specks then Ray hooked a nice red and unfortunately he got off right at the boat- we ended the trout fishing- and turned it into a red fish trip! Ended up with 15+ reds, 5 trout, and two nice black drum. Most of the fish were on live shrimp but we did catch a few on Berkley gulp 4" pogies. The new rods were great!
Plenty of fish still around and the trout fishing should be off the hook the next couple of weeks- if you are going to be here around Thanksgiving -give us a call! 866-395-FISH
