US Open King Mackerel Tournament

Fished Friday with Capt Chad Casteen in the US Open king mackerel tournament. We started off where I had fished the day before but there was not enough wind to get the kite up so we just anchored and chummed. No luck- made a move and found the fleet as well as the fish. We did not get lucky and catch a big fish but there were plenty of them caught.
I did not fish the second day (fished a redfish tournament) but Chad went back and slammed the king mackerel... Once again no big fish but when you get in a crowd of 200 boats there's a little luck involved on who gets the big fish and who gets the others. Congratulations to all of the winners- it was a great tournament with tons of 30 pound fish being weighed in. Several friends finished in the top spots!
