Offshore 8/8/08

John Walsh and I headed offshore to try and catch some amberjacks on the fly... We teased up plenty of barracudas some of them monsters... but the jacks for whatever reason seemed to stay down and too far back. Had several lookers but they were not feeding very well. Could have caught all we wanted on live bait- but opted to stick it out on the fly...
Finally we started dropping live baits to the bottom to try and bring them up and hit some nice groupers- ended up with a limit of gags- a nice consolation prize!
