I told Joe Taglia and his son-in-law last week it didn't get any better catching redfish- I lied...
Today his son Mark and daughter-in-law Jen were aboard and it may have been the best half day ever... The first stop we started catching the reds and there were some really big fish mixed in. Mark would cast and try to count to five before he had a fish on and seldom get to five!!! I had 50 mullet minnows and we used them all in two hours(or less). The action was non stop. Several doubles. Ended up with 23 redfish with five of them over 30"...
When we were out of bait we ran offshore a little farther and jigged some bluefish and gray trout. It was icing on the cake at that point. The ocean was a slick as it ever gets. A few schools of false albacore showed up and we hooked one-big fight for Jen who's arms were already sore. Everyone had a great time- and Mark and Jen kept me laughing the entire trip- great people!!! WHAT A DAY IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!
Jen showed the guys how to catch them and caught the first fish...
Mark with one of several big reds for the morning...
