Had Joe Taglia and his son-in-law Matt aboard for some beautiful weather - clear water and some hungry fish!!!

A great 1/2 day redfishing and trout fishing today.  We started with a bang and ended with one as well...  Probably caught 15+ reds for the morning and lost 5 or 6 more.  Also added a couple of really nice trout as well.

Had 3 reds that were 25"+ and one that was over 30".  Matt ended up catching the biggest fish at the end and it was a really big redfish!!!

Joe caught one of the big fish on 6 lb test on a small trout rod...one heck of a fight.

I always enjoy fishing with Joe- he's one heck of a fisherman.  Most fish were caught on jerk baits and artificals- the rest fell for live shrimp and mullet minnows...

It was one to remember!!!

I never, never had such luck with Joe when we fished Long Island Sound out of Westport, CT and he fished this area for eons. Now he moves south gets hooked up with a great guide & angler and he's catching record reds. I should have known and insisted we use a guide who knew the Sound or gone golfing instead. All kidding aside those two fish were whoppers! I bet bet they tasted even better than they looked. Congratulations Joe and Matt. By the way you could have freezed some of your catch and send some north!
