Excellent King Mackerel fishing is happening right now!!!  Had Dan Bishop and Todd Capitano aboard yesterday- we had originally planned to take their two sons but the rough forecast left the kids to hit the beach while we hit the water.  Todd and Dan are great to fish with and I had fished this summer with both of them and their sons.

The wind was howling out of the north at 20+ knots so we had to stay close to the beach(really close).  Started off at Yaupon reef and the water was so murky we moved down to Lockwood inlet.  Had a good strike and witnessed several fish free jumping until we finally got a really big fish on- but after a couple of monstrous runs the hooks pulled!!!

We ended up catching a few and missing a few more- then moved back to the reef where the water had cleared and caught one more and had one bite through the wire!  The conditions were tough today but we still caught some fish and had a great time!  We all got to see some of the coolest sights in fishing king mackerel skying on bait...

Took off with my step dad and daughter (7) Grace this afternoon to see if we could catch some kings.  They were biting very good.  Grace was worn out by the end of the day!  We started at 1:00 and by 5:30 we had caught plenty of fish with some really big ones in the 25-30 lb range.  It was a great afternoon spent with family!  I didn't have time to take any photos we were busy most of the afternoon...

Good fishing today went by myself and it was pretty busy for the afternoon.  Caught plenty of kings on this quick trip- several doubles- that's kind of interesting by yourself.  Got lucky and didn't lose any...
