Fishing Report 7/2/07

Had a half day this morning with Dr. Steve Lucey, his son Luke, and his dad. Steve and Luke are doing something everyone with kids who like to saltwater fish should try. They have the chart with all of the species of fish on the NC coast on it and Luke is trying to catch one of each specie before he graduates from high school- One of the neatest things I have ever heard of!
Luke needed a trout and a redfish among other things. I loaded up with live shrimp and off we went- It was really windy and it limited out fishing to the creeks and close to home. We ended up with a few really nice trout and redfish as well. I think we also caught some other smaller species he could check off (perch, and a couple of pin fish, and a stingray). These guys were great and it was really nice to have and see three generations fishing together and spending some quality time together.
