Steve Kirshner and brother-in-law PJ jumped in the flats boat and we set off in our quest for a red on the fly.  The wind picked up to about 20 knots which kind of killed the fly fishing.   PJ and Steve are both great casters and we switched over to spinning rods and artificials, then even to live bait. While we were fishing I got some great info on Costa Rica which these guys had fished several years in a row.  We had plenty of time for discussion because the fish refused to bite.  We did have a few reds bite on artificals but none stayed hooked up.  We fished everywhere with every bait and gave it 110% but it was just one of those days when nothing was happening!

Our plan for Saturday was to go offshore on the 23' Parker and chum up some AJ's, Mahi, and Kings on the fly however a family emergency kept us from going on Saturday.  I hope we can get a shot at it this fall or next summer- these guys were great to have on the boat and excellent fishermen.
