5/26/2007 -Offshore
Headed offshore Saturday with Dustin Wilharm and crew to catch some grouper and whatever else was biting. The red grouper were biting good and we caught several including a 29.5 pounder (what a beast). We also caught a 5 man limit of silver snappers, a couple of small jacks, a few small throwback scamps, and one big 200+ pound shark. It was pretty much non-stop action all day long. The water and the weather were perfect.

Had the husband and wife team of Scott and Donna Paris aboard. Scott had just purchased a new boat and wanted to know some good places to go. I wanted these guys to catch a redfish in the shallows but the gill nets had just about every spot I tried covered up. We ended up catching a few bluefish on top water and mirro lures and pulling the hooks on one nice flounder. I tried everything possible but just could not get these guys a red! What great people to fish with, they are both excellent casters and I'm sure will do well with their new boat.
