No Kings Yet...

Ran offshore to the tower yesterday with Wally Trayah - of Fish Whistle Charters and Greer Hughes of Cool Runnings Charters to try and get on the King Mackerel bite. Not happening at all yesterday for us. Must be just a little too early- the water temp was good but not much bait showing up.
Ended up Grouper fishing to get back some gas money. Finished with 10 keeper grouper and 3 jacks. These guys are two of the best around and we had a great time- even thought the fish did not want to cooperate.
Did not see any Bonita all day which is really unusual for the amount of water we covered. I think in two weeks it will light up out there and will be on fire to begin the spring/summer season. The bonita run is not far away and we will be booking charters as soon as they show this spring!
